Halley VI Research Station
When the government in the United Kingdom sought a partner to design and manufacture its new Antarctic research base, it turned to Petrel and its extensive experience in designing and building structures that will stand up to the harsh conditions found in the remote Antarctic environment.
Petrel designed and fabricated the unique modular structure in its facility in Cape Town. A Petrel Installation Project Consultant spent five months on-site overseeing the final construction and commissioning of the new facility.
The project was completed on and time and within budget. It began operation in 2009.
